Lesson #1 continued....

After reading Lesson # 3, I was inspired to go back and put a little more effort into reproducing Preston's drawings ...

Now that these are a little more in order, I think i will try and retackle lesson #2.

Here are my drawings for Preston Blair and John K.'s school of animation Lesson #1....

I'm not particularly happy with these...but it is 1:40...and I did draw them watching the movie Thumbsucker....which if you haven't seen it... you should definately go rent it.

Ok....This post is for John K. more or less.... All of these drawings are either straight from Preston Blair's book on animation or the techniques that I have begun to acquire from it....

This is just some Nut i saw walking around WWU's campus... I tried to build her using basic construction forms like the ones shown in Preston's Blair's book...

This is another retard...I tried working with line of action here...I wasn't to successful though.. In fact...i sucked at it.

Here are some random things I have drawn from either pausing clips on John K's blog or from pausing starling films "Classic Cartoons".

Here are some of my first attempts at drawing the concepts preston blair goes over in his great book Animation. You can tell i was doing pretty poorly at this point... maybe tomorrow I will post a similar page with much better drawings....kind of like an outline of my evolution thus far...

Here 's a drawing of my girlfriend Brynn... I tried combining the things i learned from Preston's book, with the things I have picked up on from reading Katie Rice's blog...

Here are some "cute" drawings from Preston Blair's book. They aren't anything special...But they really have helped me understand the underling principles of every "cute" drawing I have ever seen...

And John...if you are reading...please keep teaching me... I would hate to waste money on going to school when i could learn quicker and much better from you.

Here are some Uncle Sam's that I did for Socio Economics all the way out here in hippie town USA... Bellingham, WA. They slowly became more and more watered down unfortunately, until I finaly was able to produce generic... i mean "appropriate" versions.
